As a mother, especially now a mother of 2, Me time is extremely rare.
I am very blessed to have a village to support me, my husband is a great and very engaged father and both sets of grandparents are always available to help at a moments notice. However as a mother I am the primary person the children always turn to at their time of need, especially my youngest as we are still nursing.
Its very challenging to carve out the crucial time where I can be alone and recharge and reconnect with myself, the me I lived with for 30 years before I had my two angels.
For many mothers grabbing a good book, taking a nice long walk or engaging in some exercise is the way they decompress from the stresses of the day.
I try to take a moment when I can, with my morning coffee or my favorite netflix binge at the end of the night when my little ones are tucked away safely in their beds.
I use this time to reflect on how lucky I am to have my family, my two happy healthy children and the support network of all my family and the other mommas in my life!
